VT Native, Turned Professional Actor, Teaches Master Class at VTMTA
Jacob as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever

Born in Williston, VT and a 2009 C.V.U. graduate, multi-talented Jacob Tischler has always been a kind soul. But, after several years of (very) successfully navigating the multiple challenges of being a working actor, there’s a fierceness in his eyes.
A brief respite in Vermont before rushing off to Washington DC to play Cosmo in an upcoming production of “Singin’ in the Rain” provided an opportunity to get some private coaching in tap from Spotlight’s own tap legend Jen Barden. Jacob was also kind enough to teach a master class in Audition Technique for our Musical Theatre Academy students and WOW, did he deliver.
Showing Marcino (Cino) Ambris the time tested way to get tension out of the body. Push Ups!
Being a performer is not for the faint of heart. The competition can be overwhelming, rejection is a constant companion and getting work enough to make a career of it is much more about getting the next job than being on stage. Still, those like Jacob, who are successful, embrace the challenge and beat the odds.
Auditioning is a skill unto itself, since the rule of thumb is that it takes 100 auditions to get a role. So, hearing from someone who is successful at it is truly a gift.
THANK YOU JACOB!
